Security Center

Security Center

I know the FAQ states that Windows7 Firewall Control is independent of the built in firewall but if I turn off the built in firewall, the security center notifies me that I don't have a firewall installed. Is Windows7 Firewall Control just not recognized by Windows 7 yet?

Same problem, except that Security Center shows Windows Firewall as turned off, and WinFirewallControl as turned on. Should Win 7 be seeing your program as a fifrewall? I thought it was just a front end for the Windows Firewall. Ideally, Security Center should show Windows Firewall as running, and not show your product at all.

First of all please be aware of some details while switching off Windows Firewall with Windows7FirewallControl Free
http://vistafirewallcontrol.freeforums.org/vistafirewallcontrol-vs-windows-built-in-firewall-t16.html

Vista Security Center recognizes and lists Windows7FriewallControl (and VistaFirewallControl)
Windows7 (not released still) should recognize/list the FirewallControl as well.

Ideally, Security Center should show....

Windows7FriewallControl is NOT based on WindowsFirewall. Windows7FirewallControl is based on Windows7 (and Vista) security core. WindowsFirewall is based on the same core as well. So Windows7FirewallControl is the front end to the core and WindowsFirewall is the front end to the same core as well.

I am still a little confused. Should I turn on the windows firewal when using win7firewall control or not? A simple yes or no following by a more detailed explanation would be a good thing.

With Free version switching WindowsFirewall off is not recommended.
With Plus version – at your option.

The details are still
