LICENSE VALIDITY

LICENSE VALIDITY

Postby Pat » Sat Oct 02, 2010 4:58 pm

Hello,

As you said "The License code is permanent and valid for the current version and all the free upgrades." in one of your topics, could you please be more precise about the term "free upgrade"; ie : is going from release 3.5.1 to release 3.8.1, free ? And from 3.8.1 to a future 4.x.x, still free ?
On the other hand, since I replace my PC very often, is the license purshaded in the first place will still be valid for the new machine ( it is intended that the program will be uninstalled from the old PC ) ?
Thinking you in advance for your answer.

For the time being all the minor version upgrades are free, i.e. 3.5 to 3.8 upgrade is free.
The major version upgrade is discounted (typically 30%), i.e 3.8 to 4.x is not free.
(FYI: typically we have multiple programs as "free license for an advanced blog post, genuine review, found bug, etc.)

Single license is valid for a single installation place perpetually; you must have no concurrent installations.
The product of same major version may be reinstalled onto a different media and registered with the same license key.
The registration activity is not limited but monitored.
So a PC replacement will not prevent the license utilization.

Hi,

Thanks for these precisions.
Where can I find detailled info about those programs you're talking about ?
Are you refering to the XP V 3.8.155.57 testing ?
Note : I will post an new msg about some suggestions for program improvement ( if possible ).

Unfortunately there are no strict/formal conditions of the programs.
The starting point is you help to make the product better (finding reproducible, significant problem/bug) and/or more visible (publishing your personal experience of the product usage), we make the related decision solely and may grant you the license for free or reject.
We do not think a cut’n’paste from our site to a forum/blog is free license worthy, for instance.
Any other efforts may deserve different decision.
If you would like to have a more definitive direction, please contact support [at] sphinx-soft [dot] com with the details of your expected action. We grant several licenses a week typically.

XP Edition is now in the beta state and should be treated separately. There are some known problems to fix. The testing is free anyway.
Please read the corresponding thread.
