Blocked Windows Media Center Components

Blocked Windows Media Center Components

Postby xv99 » Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:49 am

Hi folks,
first of all i want to say that you made a really good piece of software!!
Its the easiest was to handle the windows firewall.

But! i cannot use my Windows Media Center.
A lot of services and programms are blocked.
The windows media center extender via xbox does not work either. The function is blocked and i cant open the ports for the required progs.
When i want to use it i have to switch to "enable all" mode.

Any chance to realize this acces in the free version? I tried the "plus" but its much to complicate.

Thanx!

There should be no problems to use WMC with Xbox.
Actually if Mode:EnableAll helps only the required components/services are not enabled in full.
The only way to determine the missing permissions is monitoring the blocked event notifications. The notifications specify the blocking reason precisely, and so, reveal the activity to be enabled.

Yes, you are right.
After several attempts i uninstalled and reinstalled the software and now everything is fine!
Thanks for your support
